Savings accounts
Why save your money? Using a savings account is different from saving up for something by just putting your money in a special jar each week. A savings account is where you agree to put your money and not to take it out for a long time. To reward you for doing this the bank, building society or Post Office will put some extra money in your account; this is called interest.

This means your money can grow!

You have to ask a parent about this as different accounts offer different things. Your parent can find out about this for you and tell you if it is the right thing to do at this time.
